Completely revamped in 2019, it redefines the notion of luxury yachting and has evolved into a truly exquisite space that will welcome you into a unique setting. Now more intimate, our majestic three-masted sailing ship offers you the chance to experience the trip of a lifetime. At PONANT, transatlantic voyages will take you back in time when only a ship could connect the old world to the new.

Kangerlussuaq, Grundarfjörður, Longyearbyen, Kivitoo… If there are any town and village names that truly evoke the Far North, it's those of Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Canada. Icebergs, sea ice and volcanic mountain landscapes extend as far as the eye can see. And amidst it all roams the polar bear, king of the Arctic, in complete peace and tranquillity. To take an Arctic cruise is to allow yourself to be transported to a world where man is simply a spectator and nature reigns supreme. Travel to the heart of a spectacular natural environment of rivers, lakes, glaciers, vast conifer forests and dizzyingly high fjords. The state is home to an extraordinary range of wildlife, which has been able to thrive and prosper alongside the Native American peoples, who have a deep respect for this unique environment.

Recruited for our ships depending on their successful graduation and their experience, these officers are responsible for operating the ship and supervising the crew. Each year PONANT offers more than 400 awe-inspiring cruises, calling at over 450 ports on all seven continents. From Zodiac® landings in Antarctica to hikes in the Arctic; from immersion in Japanese culture and revisiting classic Europe, to the natural beauty of the Seychelles, PONANT presents these destinations through a new lens. You’ll feel a deeper connection to the sea, and there’s a certain pleasure from being docked in chic little ports among the superyachts or anchored in a remote bay far from the crowds. Of course, there won’t be Broadway shows and a choice of restaurants, but simplicity is all part of the appeal.

A doctor is present aboard all our ships, throughout the duration of the cruise. Consultation times are indicated daily in the logbook (24-hour emergency consultations). The sisterships and the PONANT EXPLORERS have a hospital for any minor surgeries.

Madeira, the Azores, the Bissagos Islands and the islands of Cape Verde off the coast of Africa open the doors to a world of peace and tranquillity, unspoiled nature and ancestral traditions. The sense of a complete change of scene here is total, the feeling of delight and enchantment utter and entire. The mere mention of Africa and the Indian Ocean is enough to inspire dreams of sunshine and adventure. South Africa, Tanzania, Madagascar, Réunion, the Seychelles, the Maldives… the sense of exotic escape is everywhere. And along with that sense comes idyllic, heavenly landscapes, from the savannah, where the elephant reigns supreme, to fine, sandy, palm-lined beaches, coral reefs and multicoloured underwater worlds. To visit the Scattered Islands of the Indian Ocean is to experience a complete change of scenery.
